Certainly I had fun shooting balls around the table and making red squares go boom. But there are also mechanics I really didn't understand, like
Why, once my damage-per-ball is high enough, do some squares die on the first hit, while others don't? Do identical-looking squares have different health levels?
Does my health just go down over time, or is something causing it that I should avoid?
It doesn't look like anything is attacking/damaging me, so what is the "shield" upgrade for?
"Prestige 1" seems to give $2 instead of $1 per enemy...but the enemies seem four times as hard to kill, which means there's no real incentive to play at that level.
It feels like there's a lot going on that could use more in-game explanation.
(Also, if you don't mind a couple of quality-of-life suggestions: it would be nice if there were a graphical distinction in the skill tree between things you can afford and things you can't. And it might be nice to see what your current stats are--damage per hit, radius size, ball speed, etc.--so that things like "+1 durability" feel less abstract. If an incremental game is all about Numbers Going Up, I want to see the numbers go up. :-) )
I really appreciate your feedback. These issues definitely exist, and other players have experienced similar problems. I will rebalance the game for sure and add a lot of new quality-of-life features, such as a coin-grabbing drone and highlighting purchasable upgrades, in a big demo update coming soon.
The Armor reduces the damage you receive when you deal damage. Yes, you take passive damage, as well as damage when you attack enemies.(all that scales with prestige)
When you’ve just reached a new prestige, it was intended that you farm some coins on previous prestiges before moving forward. Then you’re able to farm newer prestiges, and the whole process repeats in a loop.
The red nodes are a little randomized, it just may have a little more or a little less hp , the same goes with size , also they get a little bigger with prestige.
I like it! Haven't finished stage 1 yet but heres some feedback.
Enemies don't take damage if they're directly in the center of your circle. Often there's a few enemies that are immortal. Completely black and constantly being hit but not dying. Rarely (once so far), 2-3 balls will bounce off the corner of an enemy and either only 1 does damage or none do.
UI: Moving the stop button out of the playing area would be nice, there's a lot of empty space for it up top. I think the after round text is wrong, it says "Player cush" instead of what i assume was meant to be player cash.
Thanks! I know about the bug where sometimes there are enemies you can’t kill. I’m not sure what causes it, but it doesn’t happen in the desktop build, and it occurs very rarely. I’m also aware of the other bugs you mentioned, and I’ll fix them in the next update. And the “cush” — I just missed that one
Sorry! Seems I didn't realize there were 2 different enemies in stage 0 as they look almost the same size. Explains why they weren't getting 1 shot. I edited that part out.
Also im not sure about that as im playing on the desktop build. The browerser version is unplayable for me since im on laptop and cant zoom in/out of the skill tree delicately enough with the touchpad to see the upgrade descriptions. I get 1-3 immortals around 1 in 3-4 rounds
I suppose now is a good time to reccommend a zoom in/out slider or buttons for the browser version for people like me.
One type of enemy is a basic enemy, and the second one is the boss. He has a slightly different texture and is bigger. I’ll take a look at what I can do with the slider. Also you can navigate using the right mouse button, and you don’t need to scroll at all.
Hm, im aware of the boss but there seemed to be another enemy type besides the smallest. Is there variable damage or something? If not, then the damage is bugged like i said in the original feedback. Also thanks for the tip! Some text somewhere about navigating with the rght mouse button would clear that up. Anyway, cool game.
Only if you upgrade the bomb perk is there a chance that bomb entitiy will spawn. When you kill it, it spawns a bunch of balls that spread around. Also, enemies may scale with prestige, becoming bigger, tuffer, and dropping more resources. It's also randomized a little
